We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Club Manager to lead the day-to-day running of our well-established Extended School Club in North London. If you’re passionate about delivering high-quality play experiences and creating a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for children aged 4–11, we want to hear from you!


📌 About the Role

As Club Manager, you’ll take overall responsibility for the daily operation of the Breakfast & Afterschool club, ensuring a caring, creative, and secure setting for children during out-of-school hours. You’ll oversee a team of Playworkers and volunteers, act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, and collaborate with families, schools, and local agencies to deliver an inclusive and dynamic play environment.


🛠️ Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging play opportunities in a safe and welcoming environment
  • Provide hands-on care and refreshments for children
  • Administer first aid when necessary 
  • Lead safeguarding practice as the Designated Safeguarding Lead
  • Supervise, support, and develop staff and volunteers
  • Encourage child participation and consult them on activity planning
  • Build strong partnerships with parents, schools, and external professionals
  • Maintain excellent communication and uphold club policies and procedures
  • Ensure health, safety, hygiene, and security standards are consistently met
  • Attend and contribute to relevant training and professional development

🧩 Person Specification

Essential

  • Level 3 childcare/play work qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with children aged 4–11
  • Supervisory or management experience in a childcare/play setting
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Safeguarding/child protection training (current)
  • Paediatric First Aid certificate
  • Knowledge of inclusive practice and equal opportunities
  • Organised, enthusiastic, and dependable

Desirable

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a childcare/play-based setting
  • Budgeting and basic administrative experience
  • IT skills for managing attendance, communications, and planning
  • Food Hygiene certificate
